Jonathan T. Ricketts, Inc. is hiring a Civil Engineer I. Recent graduates and early-career engineers are encouraged to apply.

Our work includes civil site planning and design, water resources and stormwater, environmental restoration, and expert witness services. You’ll contribute to South Florida projects ranging from residential and commercial developments to golf course communities and marinas.

Work alongside experienced engineers and designers, with assignments and reviews guided by senior licensed Professional Engineers—including professionals with more than 40 years of experience.

What you’ll do

• Assist with civil design, calculations, drawings, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
• Prepare permit applications, supporting documentation, and submittal packages; research applicable codes and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in site visits, field observations, and data collection. Mileage is compensated when applicable.
• Help prepare technical documents, specifications, quantities, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Incorporate review comments and coordinate with teammates, clients, and agency reviewers.
• Learn engineering tools, improve workflows, and communicate progress and questions while meeting project commitments.

What you’ll bring

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program by your anticipated start date.
• 0–2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Sound engineering fundamentals, critical thinking, resourcefulness, and attention to detail.
• Clear communication, dependable follow-through, and the ability to work independently and with a small team.
• Willingness to ask questions, use feedback, participate in field assignments, and learn new tools—including applications of AI in engineering design under professional supervision and with critical review.

Helpful, but not required: FE/EIT progress; relevant internships, research, or coursework; and exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormWise (ICPR), GIS, or LiDAR. Limited Civil 3D experience does not automatically rule out a promising candidate.
