JOB DESCRIPTION
Due to the ever-increasing demand for our design and construction management services, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced AutoCAD Designer 1. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong background in AutoCAD Civil 3D and ARC GIS. This person should have three to five years of civil design experience including paving grading, water, and sewer design. They must also be able to leverage the full set of tools within the AutoCAD environment including profiles, alignments, cross-sections, assemblies, corridors three dimensional surfaces, data shortcuts, styles, surfaces, and sheet set manager. Knowledge of surveying, legal descriptions, platting, TINs, Annotative text, and the use of RECAP is a plus along with the standard construction practices of FDOT. Must have the ability and the confidence to produce a full set of civil construction plans for projects such as residential, commercial, marinas, and golf courses. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create engineering drawings using AutoCAD (Civil 3D) for site development upgrades, new site builds, site layout, grading, landscape, and utility layout, including horizontal and vertical alignments.
  • Track assigned tasks and prioritize accordingly.
  • Read and analyze existing blueprints, construction drawings, field notes, as-builts, survey information, utility maps, plans, etc.
  • Produce accurate design drawings promptly and efficiently
  • Evaluate the design for constructability
  • Research municipal databases for mapping information
  • Assist team with troubleshooting on their specified project and effectively advise the rest of the team with any resolution or concern.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3-5 years civil design and drafting experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and ARC GIS
  • Ability to produce a full set of civil construction plans
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and blueprints
  • Knowledge of surveying, legal descriptions, platting, TINs, Annotative text, and the use of RECAP

  • Knowledge of the standard construction practices of FDOT
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • An openness to change including learning new technologies and adapting to a new working environment.

 

DESIRED

  • BA/BS in Construction Management, Architectural Design, or similar field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $54,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year,
commensurate with experience.
